Every allergen, declaration, footnote code, icon and all six locales in one JSON file. MIT licensed, and the licence notice travels inside the file.
Dataset version: 1.3.0
28 allergen keys
Every allergen named in Annex II of EU Regulation 1169/2011, as keys you can store.
- 14 statutory groups
- Cereals and tree nuts expand to their members
- The specific cereal or nut must be named by law
- Stable identifiers that never change meaning
22 declarations
Additive, beverage and product notes that sit beside allergens on a menu.
- Colourings, preservatives, antioxidants, sweeteners
- Caffeine and quinine notes
- Alcohol and product-level warnings
- Grouped by category, not by country
Footnote codes
The MENUELLA scheme projects every key onto a short printable code — letters for allergens, contiguous numbers for declarations.
- Region-independent by design
- Rendered at print time, never stored
- Matches what Menuella already prints on menus
15 icons
One glyph for each of the 14 statutory allergen groups, plus one for declarations.
- Named after the key, not the picture
- Readable down to 16 px
- Plain SVG — no icon font, no runtime
6 languages
German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Turkish — every key, complete in every locale.
- Your app's own i18n picks the locale
- No lookup tables to maintain
- Names and full declarations included
Built for our menus. Open for yours.
We maintain this because every Menuella menu depends on it. It is published so you do not have to rebuild the same table.
MIT licensed — use it in your own products, with or without Menuella.
